Intended learning outcomes
Upon approval, the student should be able to demonstrate and apply theoretical knowledge of materials and solve simple materials problems, namely:
- Know and demonstrate how atomic/molecular/macromolecular and crystalline/noncrystalline structures influence and are used to predict their physical, mechanical and electroptical properties of the materials, allowing the establishment of structure-properties relationships.
- Select micro and nanostructural characterization methods of materials and interpret the experimental results.
- Know, interpret, and use the results of mechanical/thermal/electroptical tests to manipulate and select materials for different applications.
- Know to describe the main fabrication/processing techniques of materials based on the materials properties and envisioned application.
- Know how to select materials based on their properties and performance indices, including costs and sustainability.
